The Space
The Space is an exciting collaboration to establish a new community facility in place of an existing Methodist church on Elsinge Estate in Enfield. In partnership with architecture and design practice IF_DO, Street Space devised and delivered a programme of meaningful community engagement to raise awareness of the new space and support local residents to shape it. Listening to the complex local need for a space that could weave connections between the fragmented community groups in the area we began live testing local people’s ideas for how The Space could do this. We supported residents to test running activities such as boxing, football, supper club and arts activities and connected a representative community steering group to take the project forward.
